Serena Ngo Yoga

Alignment. Breath. Intention.

Serena turned to yoga in order to complement her running and found so much more than an improved half marathon time. She was hooked after the first savasana - she was drawn to the physical challenges of the practice and over time, yoga provided strength, clarity, and calmness in her mind. As a health enthusiast she wanted to share the healing benefits she experienced from yoga with others and completed teacher training through CorePower Yoga. Through vigorous and alignment-focused classes, she hopes to leave her students more present, revitalized, and better connected to both their bodies and mind. Serena has gone through additional training and self study in utilizing yoga for stress/trauma reduction and hopes to bring yoga to underserved communities.

Serena has a Masters in Social Welfare and also works in the nonprofit world. She loves to run on the beautiful Bay Area trails, eat, spend time with family and friends, and loves a good Netflix binge.

After my first yoga class with Serena, I was hooked! I look forward to taking her class every week because of the quality of her teaching and attention to detail. Being a fellow yoga instructor, I can sincerely appreciate Serena’s authenticity and intention behind her sequencing. I can tell the time Serena invests in planning her classes is anything but minimal. Every part of her class builds and prepares your for what is next and is very methodical in nature. Although her classes require thoughtful planning as an instructor, I always feel carefree and blissful as a student. Serena is an exeptional instructor to have on any team or in any community because of her light heartedness, teaching quality, attention to anatomy, and music. Her classes are for all levels but always provide a good challenge. This is why I cannot stop taking her class, and look forward to it as a part of my weekly schedule!

Serena is amazing!! I have taken both private and group lessons from her and she is by far one of my favorite teachers! She has a way of describing her flows and positions in a way that you find yourself making the tiny adjustments and finally feeling what the position is supposed to feel like. I have been able to do poses and get into inversions I never understood from instructions in other classes with Serena. I miss her and think anyone would be lucky to get to experience her classes!
