Serena turned to yoga in order to complement her running and found so much more than an improved half marathon time. She was hooked after the first savasana - she was drawn to the physical challenges of the practice and over time, yoga provided strength, clarity, and calmness in her mind. As a health enthusiast she wanted to share the healing benefits she experienced from yoga with others and completed teacher training through CorePower Yoga. Through vigorous and alignment-focused classes, she hopes to leave her students more present, revitalized, and better connected to both their bodies and mind. Serena has gone through additional training and self study in utilizing yoga for stress/trauma reduction and hopes to bring yoga to underserved communities.
Serena has a Masters in Social Welfare and also works in the nonprofit world. She loves to run on the beautiful Bay Area trails, eat, spend time with family and friends, and loves a good Netflix binge.
